As a dog loving family, we have been committed to creating the finest, all natural gourmet frozen dessert for dogs, using only the purest, most wholesome human grade ingredients and lots of love! We add nothing to our premium frozen treat to interfere with purity and perfection....no sugar, no preservatives, no colours, no artificial ingredients, no artificial flavours. Our treat is dairy free, salt free, naturally high in antioxidants, vitamins & minerals, enhanced with Omega 3, enriched with fibres and sweetened with pure bee honey.

Max & Frida Gourmet Frozen Dessert is the perfect reward for training, good behaviour or as a refreshing treat. One cup (small breeds) or two cups (medium & large breeds) per day will keep your four legged best friend cool, happy and healthy! This treat is good for humans, too! Especially for vegetarians.

Ice Cream is defined as a frozen food made from a mixture of dairy products, such as milk, cream and nonfat milk, combined with sugar and flavourings, such as fruits, nuts and chocolate chips. Thus, our treat is called frozen dessert, instead of ice cream, since it doesn’t contain any dairy, chocolate or sugar which are not good for dogs.

We manufacture Max & Frida Gourmet Frozen Dessert in our ice cream factory, on the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus, along with our "human" ice cream. We currently produce two flavours, Vanilla & Honey and Coconut & Honey. Each flavour is sold separately in multipacks of 400 ml / 260 g, containing four cups of 100 ml / 65 g.

Composition: Coconut cream (coconut extract, water); honey 15%, vegetable fibres 9,4% (chicory, acacia); vegetable oils (sunflower, organic linseed); rice protein, natural Madagascar vanilla extract, ground Peruvian carob seeds.

Analytical Constituents: Protein 0,8%, fat content 11,6% (of which Omega 3 fatty acids 1 g / 100 g & Omega 6 fatty acids 5 g / 100 g), crude fibre 9,6%, crude ash 0,2%, salt 0,009 g / 100 g, moisture 64%.

Feeding Instructions: Before serving, allow this product to soften slightly to achieve its full flavour. Always remove the treat from the cup and place it in a bowl. Never leave your four legged best friend unsupervised with a cup. Fresh drinking water should always be available for your dog. Keep frozen below -18°C. Once thawed do not refreeze. Do not feed to puppies under the age of 14 weeks.

STORAGE

1. Ice cream storage facilities should be capable of maintaining product temperature of -23°C or colder. In addition, they should be of sufficient size to provide for proper stock control and rotation.
    
2. Storage facilities should have sufficient circulation of refrigerated air. Ice cream should be on a pallet or other means of providing adequate air circulation between the bottom product and the floor. To permit air circulation, sufficient space should be allowed between stacks and walls.
    
3. Frozen storage facilities should be defrosted as necessary to maintain refrigeration efficiency . Product should be protected during defrosting; if practical, it should be removed to another freezer during defrosting. Otherwise, product should be effectively covered or removed from beneath areas of accumulated frost.
    
4. The cold storage should be equipped with a numerically scaled indicating or recording thermometer. The sensing element should be located to measure the air temperature in the warmest part of each facility, and the scale should be easily readable. Check thermometer readings frequently.
    
5. Rotate inventory on a "first - in - first - out" (FIFO) basis.
    
6. Shelf life is 18 months

LOGISTICS

1. All vehicles used to transport ice cream, e.g. trucks, trailers or containers, railcars, ships, should be:
    
1. Clean and free from dirt, debris, offensive odors, or any substances that could, with reasonable possibility, contaminate the product;
    
2. Constructed, insulated and equipped with adequate refrigeration capacity and air delivery system to continuously maintain product temperature of -23°C or colder.
    
3. Equipped with tight-fitting doors and suitable closure for drain holes to prevent air leakage;
    
4. Pre-cooled for 25 minutes prior to loading. The object of pre-cooling is to establish a gradient across the insulation; from -23°C on the inner surface to the temperature of the outer skin;
    
5. Equipped with an appropriate temperature recording device to accurately measure the air temperature inside the vehicle. The dial or reading element of the device should be mounted in a readily visible position.
    
2. The thermostat on the vehicle's refrigeration unit should be set to maintain an air temperature of -23°C or colder.
    
3. Proper airflow or air circulation must be maintained on all six sides of the load. This -23°C or colder envelope around the load is a function of the vehicle's air delivery system and proper loading of the vehicle.
